Silver Nanowire Circuits printed using new technique
Silver nanowire is used in many applications ranging from prosthetics to wearable devices. Until now researchers have been unable to print flexible, stretchable circuits using silver nanowires as they clog the printing nozzles. A new approach developed by researchers at North Carolina State University, called electrohydrodynamic printing, uses electrostatic force to eject the ink from the nozzle and draw it to the correct site on the printing surface. The resulting circuits have optimal conductivity, flexibility, and stretchability. Read more about this technique at North Carolina State University.
