Synectic is excited to announce that we’ve added another design engineer, Adam Szirtes, to our talented engineering team. Adam has over ten years of experience in mechanical engineering, automation, manufacturing, and design. We sat down with Adam to learn more about him, his engineering career, and why he joined our team.
First, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to tell us about yourself. Let’s start with your engineering background. What inspired you to choose mechanical engineering as a career?
I have always been intrigued by ingenious mechanisms and curious about the manufacturing processes of everyday objects that surround us. Later in my life, this curiosity inspired me to pursue both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation, I worked as a manufacturing engineer in the process and instrumentation industry, and I acquired a wide range of skills in manufacturing, automation, and design.
What are your job duties at Synectic? Do you specialize in any branch of engineering?
Over the years, I’ve built a strong foundation and honed my skills, specifically in CAD design and manufacturing. Currently, I support ongoing projects by working on a variety of different tasks that range from report writing to building prototypes and creating supporting documentation.
Of all the product development companies, why did you choose to work at Synectic?
I was looking to shift my career into a highly specialized field with a constant stream of innovation, and the medical device field seemed to be a perfect match for this. When I interviewed for Synectic, I was truly fascinated by the collaborative and welcoming atmosphere.
What quality or ability do you bring to Synectic that can help our clients?
I am excited to apply my skills to design and build top-notch prototypes for our customers, and my experience in manufacturing will help me bring their projects to fruition.
What do you do when not working on the next latest and greatest product design for our clients?
I like to spend time outdoors, hiking, exploring, and embarking on road trips to get away. I also enjoy reading classic science fiction and watching F1 races.
Before we end the interview, we’re dying to know, what’s your favorite type of pizza?
When it comes to pizza, I prefer the simplicity of a New York-style slice, but every now and then, I don’t mind mixing it up with a more adventurous slice of Hawaiian pizza.
