A team of researchers at Okayama University, in Japan, have successfully developed a medical device for assistance in placing hemodialysis catheters. The device is made of a special material, to maintain plasticity, and looks like a bendable ribbon with holes. The holes allow clinicians to mark the patient's body for proper placement and when done correctly has an error rate of only 1 cm.
