Smart Dresser Assists Dementia Patients
Researchers at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing have created a "smart home" dresser that can help dementia patient's dress themselves. The prototype, called DRESS, uses sensors and image recognition to track the patient's progress through barcode labels on the clothes. DRESS uses audio prompts to signal to the patient what drawer to open and what piece to put on.
