The human body is an amazing source of energy and researchers at University of Buffalo and Institute of Semiconductors at Chinese Academy of Science are looking to harness that power. When attached to the body, a small electric tab, called a nanogenerator, is able to produce energy as person makes a simple movement. The nanogenerator, is composed of a silicone-based polymer sandwiched between two thin layers of gold. When a person moves their finger, the gold layers move against the creating friction and therefore an electric charge.
