Engineering Minute – Low-Cost Prosthetic Foot Mimics Natural Gait

MIT engineers have developed a low-cost prosthetic foot that can be tailored towards an individual, based on their weight and size. The prosthetic foot's stiffness and shape can be tuned in such a way that the user's gait mimics that of an able-bodied gait. The prosthetic only costs a few hundred dollars, compared to similar devices that cost thousands, making it an industry game-changer. Learn more about the prosthetic foot at MIT.
