Device Helps Diabetic Patients Detect Ulcers
For diabetics, foot ulcers can be a serious problem leading to infection and even amputation. In response to this problem, students at Rice University have developed a device that detects early signs of ulceration in a patient's feet. The device takes photos of the patient's feet and transfers them to a website where doctors can analyse the results. The device is light weight and small enough to be stored in your standard bathroom. Read more about this device at Rice University.
