Engineering Minute – 3D Printed Stethoscope

Minimal cost 3D printed Stethoscope for developing areas

Researchers at University of Western Ontario have developed an open source template for 3D printing stethoscopes. The stethoscope can be printed for less than $3, offering a low cost option for many areas with reduced access to medical supplies. When resources are scarce, doctors readily rely on inexpensive medical devices, such as the stethoscope, to make life-saving decisions. The research team is currently working on making open source templates for other medical devices.  Learn more about 3D printing low cost medical devices at University of Western Ontario
